Russia is masking its failed summer offensive with terrorist attacks on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure, reports EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas.
According to her, the EU continues to support Ukraine. It is finalizing the next package of sanctions, securing funding, and providing weapons.
"Russia will not stop until forced to," Kallas said.
Russia's massive strike on October 5
Overnight on Saturday, October 5, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine. Moscow used drones, cruise missiles, and Kinzhal missiles. Lviv and the region were hit the hardest. The area was targeted by 90 attack drones, followed by missile strikes. Strikes from the Russian attack were also recorded in the Drohobych and Shepetivka districts.
Russia also carried out a massive strike overnight on Ukraine's gas infrastructure. The attack caused damage and destruction to civilian facilities that supply Ukrainians with gas during the heating season.
