Russia is introducing a complete ban on diesel fuel exports. At the same time, imported petroleum products are expected to start arriving in the country in July, according to a statement by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Novak, TASS reports.
According to Novak, Russia is introducing a complete ban on diesel fuel exports.
At the same time, the Russian government has postponed a number of refinery maintenance projects and brought additional processing capacity online.
Novak described the situation on the fuel market in relatively mild terms despite the full export ban.
"The fuel situation has been partially stabilized, but it remains challenging for now," he said.
As previously reported, between July 1 and 8, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck 50 energy infrastructure facilities in Crimea and other Russian-occupied territories in southern Ukraine. They also hit a ferry in Kerch, a cargo vessel, and 19 tankers linked to Russia's shadow fleet.
Back in June, the Kremlin officially acknowledged a gasoline shortage but attributed it to a "15% decline in retail sales," without mentioning strikes at oil refineries.
