Russia escalates strikes on energy and housing: Zelenskyy details a week of strikes

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports that Russia is concentrating its strikes on Ukraine's energy sector, critical infrastructure, and residential buildings.
He said that in just one week, the occupiers used more than 1,700 attack drones, over 1,380 guided aerial bombs, and 69 missiles of various types.
"Every massive attack by Russia can become devastating. That is why missiles for air defense systems are needed every day, and we continue working with the United States and Europe to ensure stronger protection of our skies," Zelenskyy said.

The President also reported that coordination with regional partners, Lithuania and Poland, is currently underway in Vilnius. According to him, Ukraine is working with every leader to boost the country’s defense capabilities, and countries bordering Russia are the most aware of the scale of the threat it poses.
Russia's attack on Ukraine on January 24
On the night of January 24, Russia carried out another large-scale combined attack on Ukraine, using more than 375 attack drones and 21 missiles of various types. Most aerial targets were destroyed by air defense forces, although several impacts were recorded.
Kyiv suffered the most damage, with destruction reported in five districts of the capital. One person was killed in the attack, and at least four others were injured.
