Russia deploys Kalibr cruise missile carriers in Black Sea
On the morning of August 2, Russia deployed two Russian ships capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles into the Black Sea, according to a Telegram update from the Ukrainian Navy.
The two ships mentioned are equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a potential total salvo of up to 8 missiles.
Meanwhile, there is no hostile naval presence in the Sea of Azov.
In the Mediterranean Sea, two enemy ships have been detected, one of which is a Kalibr missile carrier with a total salvo capacity of up to 16 missiles.
The Navy reported that over the past day, in the interest of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
- To the Black Sea: 6 ships, 2 of which continued towards the Bosphorus Strait.
- To the Sea of Azov: 6 ships, 1 of which came from the Bosphorus Strait.
"Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974 by disabling Automatic Identification Systems (AIS)," the report stated.
Recently, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk noted that the military is preparing for a combined attack from Russia, a scenario not seen in a long time.
At the end of July, Russia simultaneously deployed three submarines armed with cruise missiles.
Additionally, Russia has shifted its focus to submarines rather than surface vessels.
