Russia deploys 3 submarines armed with cruise missiles to sea for first time
For the first time, Russia has launched three submarines equipped with cruise missiles at the same time, according to Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.
“For the first time, Russia has launched 3 submarines that carry cruise missiles at once. These are all available in the Azov-Black Sea region. Sometimes the Black Sea Fleet is called a submarine fleet. Now it is true,” he says.
Russian ships in Black Sea
On July 29, two Russian warships equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles were spotted in the Black Sea. The military clarified that the total number of missiles that can be fired by these ships in the Black Sea region is up to 8.
Earlier, Pletenchuk reported a change in Russian tactics in the Black and Azov Seas. According to him, instead of surface ships, the Russian invaders are now focusing on submarines.
In addition, on July 24, the Ukrainian Navy said that there were no more Russian warships in the Sea of Azov, as Russia probably began to suspect something.
