Russia is capable of launching about 100 ballistic missiles against Ukraine every month. Attacks on businesses, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other civilian sites will continue, Serhii Beskrestnov (call sign Flash), a freelance adviser to the President of Ukraine on the development of defense technologies, said.
Flash noted that recently Russian forces have increasingly targeted civilian infrastructure, including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, logistics sites, and retail chains.
In his opinion, the current intensity of the strikes is partly due to Russia's use of accumulated reserves. At the same time, Russian forces will be able to launch about 100 ballistic missiles per month in the future.
"How does this happen? The enemy knows where our targets are located. The locations of some warehouses are not secret; this is completely public information. Then there is no need for any satellites or intelligence channels," the presidential adviser explained.
According to him, to gather information about potential targets, Russians may recruit people who, in exchange for payment, monitor warehouse operations, record truck movements and transportation volumes, and then pass this information to the Russian side.
Massive attack on Ukraine and shortage of air defense missiles
During the night of August 5, Russia launched 28 missiles and 115 drones against Ukraine. However, Ukraine's air defense forces were unable to destroy the incoming ballistic missiles due to a shortage of missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
The main direction of that night's attack was the Kyiv region.
In Kyiv, the consequences were recorded in the Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, Desnianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
Residential infrastructure was damaged, warehouse fires broke out, and an ammonia leak occurred in the Holosiivskyi district, which has already been contained. One person was killed, and more than 20 were injured.
In Kyiv region, 16 people were killed, and more than 30 were injured.
Epicentr, ROZETKA, Nova Poshta, Silpo, NOVUS, and other businesses came under attack.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, supplies of missiles for Ukraine's air defense systems have fallen threefold compared with 2025, even though Ukraine's partners have them.
At the same time, media reports say that United States President Donald Trump refused to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles for the Patriot system even after a personal request from Zelenskyy.
