Russia claims objectives achieved after deadly attack on Ukraine

Russia's Defense Ministry reported on the massive attack against Ukraine, claiming that military targets had been hit, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
What Moscow said
According to the ministry's statement, the Russian armed forces carried out a massive strike with "precision weapons" against Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. According to their claims, the targets were defense-industrial facilities, military airfields, and army recruitment centers.
According to their statements, air-, land-, and sea-based weapons, as well as attack drones, were used in the attack.
The Russian ministry cynically explained the strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra by claiming that a Patriot missile had allegedly hit the Lavra — meaning that, according to their version, the landmark was struck by Ukrainian air defense.
Regarding the strikes on the Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio and the Nova Poshta terminal (Ukraine's largest private postal and logistics operator), Russia's Defense Ministry claimed that drones were allegedly assembled at the former location and that dual-use goods were stored at the Nova Poshta facility.
Attack on Kyiv: What is known about the consequences
The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra came under attack overnight, and the Dormition Cathedral caught fire. Damage was recorded in ten districts of Kyiv, and there were fatalities.
The Kyiv region also came under attack. Houses were damaged in five districts, and a child was among the injured.
Later that morning, it became known that the Dovzhenko Film Studio had been struck. The fire destroyed 100,000 costumes and three million items of clothing.
The number of people injured in the attack on Kyiv sharply increased to 30. Five people were killed.
Russia used more than 680 aerial weapons in the overnight attack, while Ukrainian air defenses destroyed or suppressed 632 aerial targets.
