On the night of July 23, Russia launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine using 71 drones. The enemy struck from four directions, according to the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to military officials, Russia attacked Ukraine with 71 Shahed-type strike drones and decoy UAVs from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (occupied Crimea).

Four regions were targeted: Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy.

Here’s how Ukraine’s air defenses responded:

  • 27 enemy drones were shot down or neutralized by air defense systems;

  • Another 18 drones were jammed or disoriented by electronic warfare systems.

"A total of 26 UAV impacts were recorded at 14 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in 5 locations," the report said.

In the city of Sumy, part of the city was left without electricity due to strikes on critical infrastructure.

Additionally, a fire broke out at a market in the Kharkiv region following the drone attack, according to the State Emergency Service (DSNS).
