Russia attacks Kyiv region with drones: Casualty and damage reported
In the Kyiv region, as a result of a Russian drone attack on the night of September 16, cars and private houses were damaged. There was also an injured person, according to Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
Russian drones were destroyed and no hits were made on residential or critical infrastructure.
A woman was injured as a result of falling debris. She was hospitalized.
As of 8:30 a.m., in the Kyiv region, damage to 5 cars, and 5 private houses, broken doors, and windows, cut facades and roofs, and grass and forest flooring caught fire in four districts were recorded. All fires have been extinguished.
"Operational groups continue to work on fixing the consequences of Russia's night attack," adds Kravchenko.
Russian ttack on Ukraine on night of September 16
On the night of September 16, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russians attacked Ukraine with Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs. A total of 56 drones were spotted in the sky, launched from the Russian cities of Kursk and Yeysk.
The main target of the attack was Kyiv region. Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups were involved in the response.
In total, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 53 Russian drones in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Poltava and a number of other regions.
