Russian attack on Ukraine

On the night of September 5, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 78 kamikaze drones and an Iskander ballistic missile. Air defense forces shot down 60 Shahed drones.

Explosions were heard in Kyiv, with air defense systems operating both in the Kyiv region and in the capital. None of the drones launched by Russia toward Kyiv reached their target during the attack.

There were no casualties in the Kyiv region. However, debris from the drones damaged six houses, broke windows in an apartment building, and sparked fires in three districts. The air raid alert in the region lasted 11 hours.

Additionally, two drones returned to Russia, and one flew into Belarus.
