Russian troops struck an emergency ambulance vehicle in the Kharkiv region this morning. Two medics were killed and another is in critical condition, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the prosecutor’s office, on March 15 at about 05:00 Russian servicemen deliberately struck an ambulance with an FPV drone as it was traveling on a road near the village of Chervona Khvylya in the Kupiansk Raion.
As a result of the attack, a medical technician and a 27-year-old paramedic sustained injuries incompatible with life. Another ambulance worker, aged 53, suffered multiple injuries and was hospitalized.
A pre-trial investigation has now been launched into the commission of a war crime that caused deaths (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The prosecutor’s office also released photos showing the aftermath of the strike.

Russian attacks on ambulances
Russian forces systematically attack emergency medical vehicles in the frontline regions of Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, numerous cases have been recorded in which ambulances became targets of enemy strikes.
Such actions violate international humanitarian law and are classified as war crimes. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies regularly document such incidents and open criminal proceedings to bring those responsible to justice.
For example, in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region, the enemy deliberately struck an ambulance while it was performing its duties, injuring two medics.
Similar attacks have also occurred in the Sumy region.
Russian troops have repeatedly attacked medical vehicles in Kherson as well.
In one case, explosives were dropped from a drone onto an ambulance, injuring two medics.
In another incident, a medic and the driver of an emergency vehicle were wounded during shelling.
