Russia's drone strike from five directions with 70 Shaheds blocked by air defenses

On the night of March 15, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with nearly 100 drones of various types. About 70 of them were kamikaze drones of the Shahed type, according to the Ukrainian Air Force Telegram.
How many drones Russia launched
According to the military, the attack began at 18:00 on March 14.
Russian troops deployed 97 strike drones of various types, including:
- Shahed
- Gerbera
- Italmas
- drones of other types
About 70 of them were kamikaze drones of the Shahed type.
Launches came from five directions: Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, and Millerovo (Russia), as well as from Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
How Ukrainian air defense responded
The air attack was repelled by:
- aviation
- anti-aircraft missile forces
- electronic warfare units
- drone units
- mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces
Preliminary data as of 08:00 shows that air defense forces shot down or suppressed 90 enemy drones.
At the same time, five strike drones hit five locations. Additionally, debris from shot-down UAVs fell in two more places.
"The attack is ongoing, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules," the Air Force reported.

Shelling of Ukraine
Recall that the previous day, in Sumy region, a Russian drone struck a suburban train. No passengers were injured, but Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily changed train routes due to the attack.
Also, on the night of March 14, Russians struck a suburban train in Kharkiv region with a drone. The driver and his assistant were injured.
In Kyiv region, a massive strike destroyed production facilities of the Ukrainian clothing brands JUL and Tago.
