Russian forces launched cruise missiles at Ukraine on the morning of November 21. Enemy aerial targets entered Ukrainian airspace from the northern direction.

The first cruise missiles entered the Chernihiv region and moved southward. These missiles were most likely launched from Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers.

Explosions reported

Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, called on local residents to stay in shelters amid reports of a missile strike on Dnipropetrovsk. He also warned of potential follow-up missile launches.

Local media and social media reported explosions heard in the city around 7:15 AM (Kyiv time) following reports of missile movements toward Dnipropetrovsk.

Later, Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, shared on his Telegram that an industrial facility in Dnipropetrovsk was damaged by enemy shelling, and two fires broke out.

The official added that the Russian forces launched a mass attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region early in the morning, and information about the consequences is being updated

Power outages

In the Sumy region, emergency power outage schedules for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd consumer groups were introduced at 6:54 AM. Sumyoblenergo stated that this was carried out on the instructions of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo.

Additionally, in the Sumy region, emergency power restrictions are in effect as of November 21.

In the Zhytomyr region, emergency power outage schedules were also introduced, according to Zhytomyroblenergo.

In the Chernihiv region, emergency outage schedules for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd groups, along with the 1st group of special emergency outage schedules, were applied, reported JSC Chernihivoblenergo.

DTEK (Donbas Fuel and Energy Company) reports emergency power outages for Kyiv, Kyiv region, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions, also on the instructions of Ukrenergo.

Missile maneuvers

"A cruise missile from the north through Chernihiv region, heading south. Additional cruise missiles on the same course," stated the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram at 6:40 and 6:42 AM, respectively (Kyiv time).

Additionally, the military reported that Russian missiles changed course toward the Kyiv region.

"Missiles from Chernihiv region to Poltava region," the Air Force stated at 6:53 AM.

Later, the Air Force reported the movement of a Russian missile toward Myrhorod from the northwest. Another missile was following a similar course toward the city.

At 7:05 AM, the military reported the movement of cruise missiles in the Poltava region toward Kremenchuk and Dnipropetrovsk.

"Kremenchuk to shelter, a missile from the north," stated the announcement from the Air Force.

The military later stated that the missile was approaching Dnipropetrovsk and that the missile from Kremenchuk was also heading toward Dnipropetrovsk.

"A group of cruise missiles south of Dnipropetrovsk, heading southeast (Zaporizhzhia). Missile targeting Dnipropetrovsk," stated the military's announcements.

Air raid alert canceled

"The threat for western regions has been lifted," the Air Force reported at 7:39 AM.

Around 7:43 AM, air raid alerts were lifted in Kyiv and several regions in the western part of the country.

Russian preparations for missile strikes on November 21

As previously reported, early on November 21, the Ukrainian Armed Forces informed about the takeoff of a Russian MiG-31K, a carrier of air-launched ballistic missiles Kinzhal, prompting the declaration of a large-scale air alert in Ukraine.

Subsequently, the movement of a high-speed target towards Dnipropetrovsk was recorded, followed by explosions in the city.

Later, Russian Tu-95 aircraft were in the air, launching X-101 missiles toward Ukraine.

Additionally, 24 Russian warships were spotted in the Black Sea, with five of them being carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles.
