Russia actively conducts airstrikes on Sumy region - Ukrainian border guards

Russian troops are actively using aviation in the Sumy direction. The attacks are accompanied by attempts to break through with small assault groups, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the Spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko.
According to Demchenko, Russia continues to shell Ukraine's border regions. Areas in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions are under fire, but the Sumy region is taking the heaviest hits.
"In this direction, the enemy is actively using aviation - dropping guided aerial bombs and launching strikes with unguided missiles," the Ukrainian military said.
Demchenko also added that the strikes are accompanied by attempts to break through with small assault groups. In particular, the Russians have recently expanded the geography of their attacks: while earlier activity was observed near Basivka and Zhuravka, the enemy is now also trying to advance in the directions of Veselivka and Volodymyrivka.
At the same time, according to the Spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, the Russians are not using armored vehicles. The small assault groups sometimes attempt to move on quad bikes or motorcycles in order to push forward as quickly as possible.
Situation in Sumy region
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 169 combat clashes took place along the frontline over the past day, June 4. The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
As Demchenko recently reported, the enemy continues sending infantry into the Yunakivka and Khotin communities of the Sumy region. The Russians are trying to expand the entry zone.
According to the RBC-Ukraine article, Russia currently lacks the forces to advance in all frontline directions this summer. Because of this, the enemy has chosen two areas for their offensive.
