Ukraine succeeded in returning a 13-year-old girl from occupation. She wanted to leave to be with her grandmother and grandfather, according to Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"As part of the President of Ukraine's initiative Bring Kids Back UA, a 13-year-old girl was rescued from temporarily occupied territory. She dreamed of leaving to join her grandmother and grandfather, who live in territory controlled by Ukraine, and kept in touch with them throughout the years of occupation," Yermak said.

He clarified that the girl decided to leave after much hesitation. She is now safe and with her family, whom she had not seen in over three years.

Return of children

On July 24, the Office of the President reported that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has succeeded in returning 1,458 children abducted by Russia.

At the same time, over 1.6 million Ukrainian children remain under Russian control.

On June 19, the Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, claimed that Russia was allegedly preparing a list of children who could be returned to Ukraine.

A few days ago, the Main Intelligence Directorate also reported that cyber specialists had obtained key evidence of the abduction of Ukrainian children by Russians.
