An informed source of RBC-Ukraine confirmed that Umerov will indeed meet with Witkoff and representatives from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

However, the source denied rumors that officials from Türkiye and Qatar would take part in the talks.

Ukraine–US talks

Yesterday, December 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian delegation had departed for the United States for a new round of talks on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

According to the president, the discussions are expected to cover the US 20-point peace plan, security guarantees, and agreements on Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Zelenskyy noted that representatives from European countries might also participate in the meeting.

Meanwhile, today, December 19, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that he, together with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov, will meet with US representatives.

Umerov confirmed that European officials will also be involved in the talks, saying this is happening at the invitation of Washington.

A few days ago, following another round of negotiations with the US, the Ukrainian president said that positions on territorial issues still differ, but the American side is taking Ukraine’s position into account.
