Ukraine and the United States are holding talks in Berlin regarding an end to the war with Russia. So far, the parties have not reached an agreement on the issue of territories, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this at a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
He recalled that meetings with American officials have been ongoing for a second day. In particular, yesterday, December 14, the talks lasted over five hours. Today, December 15, several rounds of negotiations have already taken place. The dialogue continues, and there was a substantive discussion during the day.
The president added that Ukrainian representatives will continue negotiations with their American counterparts. The Ukrainian delegation is working almost around the clock to achieve results.
According to Zelenskyy, not all issues have been simple. One of the complex topics is territories. All questions are raised during such meetings.
"There has been sufficient dialogue on territories. It seems to me that, for now, we have different positions, to be honest. But I believe that my colleagues have heard my personal stance. I am very glad that I could personally convey this position," he said.
The president also noted that Ukraine and the United States are ready to work productively to find a solution that will bring the war closer to an end, with respect for Ukraine.
He announced new meetings that will take place this evening.
