Zelenskyy’s trip to Berlin
Yesterday, December 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Berlin.
He met with the US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to discuss the US peace plan for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
After the meeting, Witkoff stated that in-depth discussions were held on the 20-point peace plan.
He emphasized that Ukrainians and Americans "managed to make significant progress."
At the same time, Western media reported that US officials refused to compromise during the talks and insisted that Ukraine would have to withdraw its troops from the Donetsk region.
Today, December 15, the second round of negotiations is taking place in Berlin. Details of the discussions are not yet known.
