Germany has approved the export of military equipment to Ukraine totaling 3.3 billion euros in the first three quarters of this year, according to Spiegel.

Over the course of nine months, Germany has already approved the export of arms in amounts greater than last year's figures.

In 2022, arms deliveries amounted to 8.35 billion euros, while this year they already totaled 8.76 billion euros.

Ukraine is the largest recipient of German weaponry

The federal government approved the export of military equipment to Ukraine totaling 3.3 billion euros in the first three quarters of the year.

It's worth noting that this makes Ukraine the largest recipient of German arms exports.

The second-largest recipient of German arms exports, with just over a billion euros, is Hungary, followed by the United States with 467 million euros.

More than 90% of approved exports were destined for EU and NATO countries or close partners like Ukraine and South Korea.

Record in arms exports remains unbroken

The article notes that this is the second-largest sum of exports in Germany's history. Only in 2021 was this figure even higher at 9.35 billion euros.

"For comparison: over 16 years of Chancellor Angela Merkel's rule, the 6 billion mark was exceeded only five times," the material states.

Germany's assistance

Germany is one of the leaders among countries providing military assistance to Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have received tanks, Leopard tanks, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, ammunition, vehicles, drones, various types of artillery, and more from Berlin.

As part of the military aid package from August 17, Germany handed over two launchers for the short-range IRIS-T air defense system to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

At the end of September, Germany provided Ukraine with a new package of military assistance, which included trucks, SatCom satellite communication terminals, and tractors.
