EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova reacted emotionally to Russia's attack on Ukraine on the night of November 19, during which, in particular, a strike was carried out on Ternopil.
Maternova said that it was a relatively calm night in Kyiv, but the rest of Ukraine was burning and suffering.
"Tonight’s Russian attacks targeted above all the Western regions of Ukraine and Kharkiv. With 470 drones and 48 missiles!!" she writes.
The Ambassador notes that several energy facilities were damaged in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions. Three people were injured, including two children.
In Novhorod-Siverskyi, Chernihiv region, a drone hit a private house, but there were no casualties.
And in Kharkiv, 18 drones hit residential buildings.
"Ternopil is still witnessing real hell. Nine people are already confirmed dead dozens injured. As the heroic rescue services waded through the rubble, the number of casualties may still rise. Friends of the victims described a night “you cannot forget” — chaos, fire, screams, collapsed residential buildings," Mathernova emphasizes.
According to her, this is the reality of Russian terror, deliberately aimed at the civilian population.
"This is not a fight against the army. This is an attempt to erase people and their lives. Ukraine is under constant fire. Civilians are dying, the energy system is being damaged, winter is approaching. And yet Ukraine continues to fight — for all of us. My heart goes out to all families and loved ones of all people killed in last night’s attack," the Ambassador adds.
