Qatar helped broker ceasefire deal between Israel and Iran - CNN

Iran agreed to a ceasefire with Israel, delivering its message to the United States through Qatar, according to Reuters and CNN.
According to Reuters, the United States proposed a peace plan, coordinated it with Israel, and then Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks with Tehran and received Iran’s consent.
CNN adds that President Donald Trump spoke with the emir of Qatar and stated that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire.
According to the outlet’s sources, Trump then asked Qatar to persuade Iran to accept the ceasefire as well. US Vice President J. D. Vance coordinated the details with the office of the Qatari prime minister.
Israel-Iran ceasefire
On June 13, Israel launched strikes on Iran to destroy its nuclear program. Key nuclear and military sites in Iran were targeted. The IDF also eliminated several members of Tehran’s military leadership.
Following that, Israel and Iran continued to exchange airstrikes. The situation escalated on June 22, when the United States struck key Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
The Pentagon stated that as a result of the US strikes, Iran’s nuclear program and ambitions were destroyed.
Early this morning, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a full ceasefire.
