As a result of strikes on Iran, the United States destroyed its nuclear program. Three key Iranian facilities were attacked, says Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth at a briefing.

The Secretary of Defense began the briefing by saying that US forces “conducted a precision strike in the middle of the night against three nuclear facilities in Iran.” Hegseth added it was “an incredible and overwhelming success.”

“We devastated the Iranian nuclear program. It's worth noting the operation did not target Iranian troops or the Iranian people. For the entirety of his time in office, President Trump has consistently stated for over 10 years that Iran must not get nuclear weapon,” he said.

Hegseth emphasized that Iran's nuclear ambitions have been destroyed, and the United States has shown that "American deterrence is back".

“When this president speaks, the world should listen. And the US military - we can back it up... No other country on planet Earth could have conducted the operation,” the Pentagon chief added.

US strike on Iran

On the night of June 22, the US military struck three key Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These are the same targets that were already attacked by Israel on June 13.

US President Trump announced the possibility of new strikes and called on Tehran to refrain from further escalation.

In response, Iran launched a missile attack on Israel. Almost 90 people were injured in Tel Aviv after the attack, and the city suffered serious destruction.

According to NBC News, the US administration expects Iran to respond within 48 hours. Read more about the US attack and Tehran's possible response in RBC-Ukraine's report.
