White House on high alert for Iranian revenge in next 48 hours

The Donald Trump administration expects that Iran may retaliate for the strikes on its nuclear facilities. A response is expected within the next 48 hours, reports NBC News.
According to two defense department officials and a senior White House official, the Trump administration is preparing for a potential response from Iran, which is causing particular concern.
Sources told the outlet that it remains unclear whether any retaliatory actions would target foreign or domestic sites, or both.
Two informed officials stated earlier this week that Iran already has plans to attack American bases and facilities in the Middle East, should the need arise.
American bases and facilities have been on the highest state of alert for several months. After Israel struck Iran on June 13, concerns over potential attacks on American sites by Iran or its regional proxies have intensified.
US strikes on Iran
On the night of June 22, the US carried out strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities - in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
American President Donald Trump stated that these sites were completely destroyed. He also threatened Iran with further attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that the US did what no other country could do, and thanked Trump for his resolve and solidarity.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes on Israel on the morning of June 22. Several cities were hit.
