Putin threatens to strike foreign troops if they’re stationed in Ukraine

Russia's Vladimir Putin has threatened that if foreign troops appear in Ukraine, they will become legitimate targets for the Russian army.
"As for possible military contingents in Ukraine... If any troops appear there, especially now, during the course of hostilities, we assume that they will be legitimate targets for destruction," Putin said.
At the same time, he added that "if long-term peace is achieved in Ukraine, foreign troops will lose their meaning."
Sending foreign troops to Ukraine
Yesterday, following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, French President Emmanuel Macron said that 26 countries agreed to send troops to Ukraine to provide support for Ukrainian territory the day after a ceasefire or peace is established.
Macron clarified that the mission in Ukraine is not intended to wage war against Russia. According to him, its main goal is to guarantee peace and send a clear strategic signal.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that there is already a preliminary understanding regarding the number of soldiers, and their presence will cover the sky, sea, and land.
At the same time, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stressed that Russia has no right to decide on the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine as part of security guarantees.
