Putin sets Russia's own terms for ceasefire talks with US on Ukraine

Negotiations between Russian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia are expected to occur early next week, says Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
"It may not be on Sunday; the final details are being agreed upon. But it will be at the beginning of next week, in the coming days," Peskov stated.
He added that the Kremlin would announce the Russian representatives in due course, but he could not yet disclose the participants.
The full-scale war in Ukraine will be one of the key topics of discussion.
Meanwhile, Steve Witkoff, Special Envoy of US President Donald Trump for the Middle East, previously stated that the talks were scheduled for this Sunday, March 23.
US-Russia negotiations
On February 18, Russia and the United States held their first round of negotiations at the highest leadership level.
Key US representatives at that meeting included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz.
Later that month, a second round of negotiations took place in Turkiye.
According to US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, the next meeting will not be held at the highest leadership level.
