Russia and the United States have an understanding of how to end the war in Ukraine peacefully. This was discussed in Alaska, said Russian President Vladimir Putin while speaking to journalists.

The Kremlin leader reminded that neither the Russian nor the American side has "fully disclosed" what was discussed during his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska.

"We simply talked about the fact that, in general, there is an understanding — both from the United States and from the Russian Federation — of where we should move and what goals we should pursue to end this conflict by peaceful means," Putin said.

According to him, he and Trump agreed to discuss ways to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine with their "colleagues and allies." He added that such issues are complex and "require further work."

Putin also claimed that Russia and the United States "remain within the framework of the agreements" reached in Alaska.

Russia obstructs peace

Just yesterday, on October 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that even Hamas is now showing readiness for peace talks, unlike Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Kremlin leader has so far refused to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss possible steps toward peace.

Meanwhile, Russian forces continue their terror campaign against Ukrainian civilians. On the night of October 10, a child was killed in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a massive Russian strike.

Russian troops also hit Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, causing power outages in several regions.
