Russia claims it is ready to discuss peace terms regarding Ukraine. According to the Russian side, a diplomatic solution could be reached quickly if key issues are agreed upon, as stated by Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev during an appearance on Fox News.

The special envoy of Vladimir Putin, currently visiting the United States, outlined key elements for resolving the war in Ukraine during an interview.

According to him, a solution could be reached quickly if several issues are agreed upon, including:

  • security guarantees for Ukraine, to which Russia is "open";

  • the territorial issue in regions with Russian-speaking populations;

  • Ukraine’s neutral status, which he called "necessary for Russia’s security."

"Focus was quite a bit on economic and investments and overall relationship as a as and making sure the dialogue happens, but I think there are just several elements. I know that the security guarantees to Ukraine and Russia, yes, Russia is open to security guarantees to Ukraine," Dmitriev said.

He went on to mention that there is also a territorial issue in areas with a "Russian population" - people who, as Dmitriev cynically claimed, were allegedly attacked by Ukrainian forces even before the conflict began.

"There is a whole issue of neutrality of Ukraine, which is important for the security of Russia, so really not that many issues on the table, and basically by understanding how they can be resulted in a diplomatic manner as a solution can be found pretty shortly, actually," he concluded.

Upon arriving in the US yesterday, Putin’s envoy Dmitriev claimed that the US, Ukraine, and Russia were allegedly "close to a diplomatic resolution" of the war.

Last week, US President Donald Trump canceled his expected meeting with Putin, explaining that he would not hold talks with the dictator since he was confident he could not achieve the desired outcome.

On October 24, Moscow sent its special representative, Kirill Dmitriev, to the United States to "discuss US-Russia relations."
