Putin's envoy holds talks with Trump team over Russia-Ukraine war — Reuters

Representatives from the US and Russia held talks in Washington on ending the war in Ukraine and possible cooperation in the energy sector in the postwar period, according to Reuters.
Kirill Dmitriev, a representative of Putin, held a meeting with US officials. According to a US representative, the talks were constructive.
The main topics of discussion were a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine war, as well as potential joint energy initiatives between the US and Russia after the war ends.
On September 24, Dmitriev met with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in New York. The parties discussed US-Russia relations, as well as a possible end to the war in Ukraine.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Donald Trump in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting between the two leaders lasted about 40 minutes.
In addition, Putin reportedly expressed his intention to resume trilateral talks on Ukraine with the participation of the US. At the same time, the Kremlin stated that no progress had been made on this front so far.
Putin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the Kremlin was counting on a new trilateral meeting, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that Russia saw a positive signal in the US approach to the peace process.
