Russia is looking for any excuse to avoid negotiations and continue the war. Ukraine, together with its international partners, is working to force the Kremlin to end its aggression, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says.
According to the head of state, Moscow is clearly not preparing to halt hostilities right now.
Russian President Vladimir Putin constantly finds excuses to avoid meetings, reject the trilateral format, and continue the killing.
"It has been the same thing for years, and all our partners can see it. He keeps finding excuses to wage war," the president emphasized.
Zelenskyy noted that during his recent meeting with US President Donald Trump, he became convinced that Washington views the situation in much the same way.
The international community's main task is to change the Kremlin's priorities.
Ukrainian leader says everything possible must be done to make Russia want to spend money not on death, but on other needs, and ultimately end the war.
Ukraine is now actively working on this issue with partners around the world—the United States, Europe, Canada, and Japan.
As reported, Ukraine calls on the United States to increase pressure on the Kremlin and implement the major sanctions law against Russia. At the same time, Washington is again emphasizing the need to reach a peace deal as soon as possible.

That same day, President Donald Trump again expressed hope for direct talks between Zelenskyy and Putin while speaking to reporters.
The US leader emphasized that he wants a swift resolution to the war and a peace deal between the two sides.
