Zelenskyy urges Trump to implement Graham bill against Russia

Ukraine is asking US President Donald Trump to implement the law proposed by the late Senator Lindsey Graham on major sanctions against Russia, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The president noted that it is important for partners not to forget that Russian escalation is taking place every day.
According to him, if the Russians have chosen to make their attacks even more brutal, the world should choose stronger responses to prevent the war from spreading further.
"We ask President Trump to implement the Lindsey Graham Act against Russia and everyone who props up its war financially," Zelenskyy said.
He also said that Ukraine is asking European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to impose additional European sanctions on Russia.
"We ask all leaders not to remove Russian oligarchs from existing sanctions lists and to continue restricting all trade with the terrorists until Russia stops the war. It is this way – through our joint efforts every day – that peace must be brought closer," the president stressed.
As a reminder, after meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the US could impose strict sanctions on Russia if the Kremlin does not take steps toward de-escalating the war and show a willingness to change its position.
At the same time, Trump said he would impose sanctions on Russia if necessary.
