Trump urges Zelenskyy to strike a deal with Putin

US President Donald Trump wants Ukraine and Russia to reach a peace deal to end the war as quickly as possible.
The American politician once again expressed hope for talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin to resolve the war.
"But you know what I want him [Zelenskyy — ed.] to do? Make a deal. I want him to settle with Putin, and I want Putin to settle with him," Trump stressed.
According to him, both leaders should enter negotiations and find a compromise to end the fighting.
As previously reported, Putin once again made a cynical statement about Moscow's supposed readiness to return to peace talks.
He said Russia had supposedly planned to resume negotiations with Kyiv after holding elections, but he accused Ukraine of attempting to strike the Russian capital and polling stations.
In addition, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow expects trilateral talks on Ukraine to resume.
He noted that the Russian side still hopes to return to trilateral consultations to achieve its goals through peaceful means, although there has been no progress so far.
At the same time, Putin has made cynical statements about peace talks with Ukraine, attempting to shift responsibility for the lack of progress in negotiations onto the Ukrainian side.
