Prime Ministers of Estonia and Ukraine sign joint statement: Details
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Miсhal have signed a joint statement that provides for the deepening of the strategic partnership between the countries, according to Shmyhal's Telegram channel.
The document reflects the unity of positions in the fight against Russian aggression and identifies areas for further cooperation.
The countries declared the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia, focusing on common security and economic interests.
The document also reaffirmed the determination of both countries to counter Russian aggressive actions. In particular, Estonia expressed support for Ukraine's initiatives to increase sanctions pressure on Russia.
The signatories called on the European Union to impose a complete trade embargo against Russia and sanctions on Gazprom, Russian oil companies, and Rosatom. They also emphasized the need to counteract the activities of Russia's shadow fleet.
In addition, Estonia reaffirmed its support for Ukraine's Victory Plan, which provides for measures to ensure stable peace in the region.
The country also declared unwavering support for Ukraine's European integration aspirations, including accession to NATO and the European Union.
The two prime ministers emphasized the importance of a just peace that will ensure stability for future generations.
“Together, we are fighting for the security of our people, for a better future for our countries, for a just peace for future generations,” Shmyhal emphasized.
Previously, the Prime Minister of Estonia arrived in Kyiv today, December 9.
It is worth noting that Estonia is planning a large-scale purchase of various types of attack drones amid Russia's war against Ukraine. It is known that the country wants to spend about 400 million euros.
