The US must increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he still refuses to come to the negotiating table. In particular, Ukraine needs to be supplied with Tomahawk cruise missiles, according to US Senator Lindsey Graham on Twitter (X).

"Clearly, the pressure we’re applying to Putin to come to the peace table and stop massive attacks against Ukraine is not working," Graham pointed out.

He emphasized that the US and Europe must implement President Donald Trump’s idea of pressuring buyers of Russian oil, who support Putin’s war machine.

According to the senator, a striking example is the US tariffs on India, which have led the country to purchase significantly less Russian oil than before. If other major buyers follow this example, it could help end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

"Finally, after this massive attack last night, I would urge President Trump to start a process to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, which would be a game-changer militarily. In the coming days and weeks, we must apply more pressure to Putin," Graham stressed.

He added that any negotiations in which aggression is excessively rewarded "will set in motion catastrophes all over the world."

"The opposite is equally true. If negotiations result in a free, strong and independent Ukraine – who had to make concessions – then the world will be far more stable," the senator said.

Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the issue of supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles with US President Donald Trump during their meeting in October.

After the meeting, Axios sources reported that the talks were tense, and the US leader refused to provide Ukraine with Tomahawks.

Notably, the day before the negotiations, Trump held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
