President Zelenskyy urges Trump and Starmer to meet and make peace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Donald Trump and Keir Starmer to meet and find common ground after repeated criticisms from the US toward the British Prime Minister, according to an interview with the BBC.

The war triggered by US and Israeli strikes on Iran has escalated into a diplomatic conflict after Trump scolded NATO allies, while Starmer, according to him, took no military action.
Zelenskyy, for his part, warned against a split among Western leaders and said he has a very bad premonition about the consequences of the war in Iran for Ukraine.
"I would really like President Trump to meet with Starmer... so that they have a common position," he said.
In his latest criticism on Tuesday, Trump called Starmer, not Winston Churchill, and said that, although he considers the British Prime Minister a good person, he is disappointed in him.
Starmer, in response, insisted that Britain will not be drawn into a larger war, and Downing Street confirmed that the US and the UK maintain strong relations.
Not only Starmer was affected
The US and Israeli war against Iran has led Tehran to effectively block the Strait of Hormuz. About 20% of the world’s oil passes through this route, and its blockade caused a sharp spike in prices.
This is one of the reasons why Trump called on Europe and even China to help unblock the strait. In the end, he was refused, including by France and Germany.
Amid these developments, Trump called the NATO allies’ refusal a very foolish mistake. He says he is not considering retaliation for this, but stated that Washington needs to reconsider US membership in the alliance.
