The President of Argentina, Javier Milei, intends to visit Kyiv and meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The trip is scheduled for June, according to Twitter (X) of Milei and Infobae.

The Argentine leader's post indicates a report by the media, specifically stating that he "affirms his geopolitical agenda with a visit to Zelenskyy amid Russia's ongoing offensive in Ukraine."

It is noted that Milei will arrive in Kyiv for a "swift visit" after receiving the Juan Mariano awards in Madrid, with the ceremony planned for June 21, and the Gaiac medals in Hamburg. It is not excluded that he may also make stops in Paris and Berlin to meet with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz.

His presidential tour is set to commence on June 19.

Milei will be the first leader from Latin America to visit Ukraine during the large-scale military aggression by Russia.

What is known about Milei

On December 10, 2023, the libertarian economist Javier Milei became the President of Argentina. Amid chants of "Libertad! Libertad!" he took the oath. Notably, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was present at the inauguration, having arrived in the country for the occasion.

It was also reported that before the New Year, Milei sent letters to five BRICS member countries, including Russia and China, declaring his decision to abstain from joining the alliance.

At the end of February, the President of Argentina announced his plan to organize a Latin American support summit for Ukraine.
