Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk: Next two years will be decisive
Now it's the most critical time since the end of World War II. The next two years will decide everything, says Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The head of the Polish government assessed the threat of a new war in the world. Tusk says it's necessary to mentally get used to the arrival of a new war and to prepare for it.
According to the Polish Prime Minister, the next two years will be decisive.
"We are living in the most critical time since the end of World War II. The next two years will decide everything," Tusk said in an interview with European media.
Tusk emphasized that he sees no reason why European countries should not increase defense spending and allocate at least 2% of GDP to the army.
"We spend 4%, but it is also true that our situation is more complex than that of Spain or Italy. 2% of GDP, however, should be considered a must. I don't understand anyone who questions this", he added.
Probability of war between Russia and NATO
The German tabloid Bild published a scenario of military exercises by Germany, during which the German armed forces are preparing for a hybrid attack by Russia on the eastern flank of NATO.
The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania commented on the situation, stating that there is currently no threat of a Russian attack on NATO, as Moscow is focused on the war against Ukraine.
The new President of Finland recently stated that he considers a Russian attack on his country, which is now a NATO member, to be highly unlikely.
However, Estonian intelligence has a different opinion. It believes that Russia is already preparing for a war with NATO, which could happen within the next 10 years.
