European leaders will meet in London this week to discuss security issues in Europe. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the meeting, according to Politico.

Tusk stated that a group of European leaders will travel to London on Sunday, March 2, to discuss joint defense and security plans.

The Polish Prime Minister also noted that the European Commission is preparing a defense package. The details of this package will be revealed at a special European Union leaders' summit scheduled for March 6, with a preliminary meeting set to take place a few days before.

"We will be in London on Sunday, together with our British friends and a group of leaders, to talk about these joint plans on defense," Tusk said.

Tusk also expressed hope for the swift mobilization of European countries on the defense and security front across the continent.

"I hope ... that this greater mobilization of Europe, both member states and Europe as a whole, when it comes to defense and security funding, will become an unequivocal fact," the politician emphasized.

Meeting in London

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the United Kingdom is in talks to convene a group of European leaders for further discussions on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

The meeting will follow the summits held last week in Paris by French President Emmanuel Macron, according to anonymous sources.

In addition, European Council President António Costa is organizing a video conference with EU leaders. They will hear a report from President Macron on his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

This will take place ahead of a special EU summit focused on Ukraine's security issues. Costa confirmed that the video conference will be held on the morning of February 26.
