Polish carriers begin border blockade with Ukraine: How traffic at checkpoints changes

Polish carriers have launched a protest near the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint on the border between Poland and Ukraine, according to the State Border Guard Service.
According to border officials, starting from 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time, Polish carriers began a protest near the Dorohusk checkpoint, which is across from the Ukrainian Yahodyn checkpoint.
Freight vehicles will be allowed to pass at a rate of one truck per hour in each direction — one entering and one exiting. Buses and trucks carrying humanitarian aid will be allowed to pass without restrictions.
As of 4:40 p.m. Kyiv time, the movement of freight vehicles in both directions through the Yahodyn-Dorohusk crossing had been suspended. Drivers are advised to take this information into account.
Polish farmers’ protests and border blockade
In 2023, the first wave of blockades began on the border between Ukraine and Poland. Polish protesters demanded the reinstatement of the permit system for Ukrainian freight carriers. These actions led to significant disruptions in logistics, particularly in the agricultural sector.
Following a series of negotiations between Kyiv and Warsaw, freight traffic across the border was partially restored in April 2024. However, Polish farmers resumed the blockades several more times afterward.

Recently, it was reported that Polish carriers announced a new protest at the border with Ukraine, with the blockade planned at the Dorohusk-Yahodyn checkpoint.
Earlier today, border guards had already warned that freight traffic at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk crossing between Ukraine and Poland may be disrupted.
