Police officers killed, many injured: What we know about Russian strike on Zhytomyr

Two police officers were killed and at least 20 people were injured in an enemy drone strike on Zhytomyr, according to the National Police of Ukraine.
Details of the attack on Zhytomyr
Russian forces carried out drone strikes on the city using Bandеrol-type drones. The building of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region was targeted.
The strike sparked a fire on the fourth floor and set the building’s roof ablaze.
"This is yet another manifestation of the true nature of Russian aggression — terror directed against people and those who protect them," said Maksym Tsutskiridze, acting head of the National Police of Ukraine.

Emergency services at the scene
Rescuers, medics and police officers are working at the site of the attack.
They are providing assistance to those injured, ensuring the safety of local residents and documenting the consequences of the war crime.
The head of the National Police thanked law enforcement officers for their resilience and for continuing to serve, and expressed condolences to the families of the killed officers.
Previous attacks on Zhytomyr region
Russian forces regularly strike civilian facilities and infrastructure in the Zhytomyr region, using drones and other weapons.
In particular, today Russia struck Zhytomyr with jet-powered drones, hitting the building of the Main Directorate of the National Police.
Earlier this month, Russia also attacked the German company Kromberg & Schubert in the Zhytomyr region.
Due to the scale of the damage, the civilian manufacturing facility with 100% German investment was forced to temporarily suspend operations for an indefinite period.
