Russian forces attacked Zhytomyr with jet-powered drones, hitting the building of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region, according to Vitalii Bunеchko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.

"The enemy attacked Zhytomyr with jet-powered drones. The building of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region was hit," he said.

Bunechko added that rescuers from the State Emergency Service, emergency medical teams, and other specialized services are working at the site of the strike. Information about fatalities and casualties resulting from the attack is still being clarified.

"I urge everyone to remain calm, not to share photos or videos from the scene, and to rely only on official sources," the regional administration head stressed.

Earlier today, Russian forces struck a passenger bus in Kherson. Four elderly people were killed in the attack, while another five were injured.

It was also reported that overnight on August 19, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and dozens of drones from several directions. Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 56 enemy targets, while strikes were recorded at 10 locations.

On August 18, Russian jet-powered drones reached western regions of Ukraine for the first time since the start of the war. Monitoring channels reported that the drones traveled approximately 900 kilometers.
