On the morning of August 19, Russian forces attacked a minibus in Kherson. Several people were killed, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

At approximately 8:50 a.m. Kyiv time, Russians attacked a minibus with a drone in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson. The strike hit the passenger vehicle directly; people were traveling in it to go about their daily business.

"Four people were killed as a result of this terrorist attack. The relevant authorities are currently working to identify them. My sincere condolences go out to the families and loved ones of those killed," Prokudin wrote.

The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed—the relevant authorities are handling this.

"After the strike, the driver decided to drive the damaged vehicle to the hospital so as not to waste precious time. He risked coming under Russian fire a second time, but the most important thing was to get the wounded to medical personnel as quickly as possible," the statement reads.

Later, the Regional Military Administration adds that four elderly people were killed—a 69-year-old man and three women aged 89, 63, and 71.

Condition of the victims

In addition to the fatalities, four other women were injured in the Russian attack.

"They are currently in the hospital. Medical personnel are conducting examinations and providing the victims with all necessary care," the head of the Regional Military Administration added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the Russian strike on the minibus in Kherson and called it yet another Russian safari.

"The vicious Russian "safari" against our people in Kherson has long gone beyond anything a normal person could imagine," the statement reads.

According to the President, there are already five wounded.

"What is absolutely clear is that the bus was civilian. These are the realities of everyday life in Ukraine’s frontline regions. While partners hesitate over additional supplies of defense equipment, the Russians have long run wild," the President said.

Over the past 24 hours, Russia has simultaneously terrorized other regions of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, a series of Russian strikes caused power outages.

A Russian drone damaged high-rise buildings, and in the morning, the Russians struck a residential area with guided bombs, leaving part of the city without power.

On the night of August 19, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and dozens of drones from several directions at once.

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 56 Russian targets, but some drones remained in the sky.
