Poland donates additional 5,000 Starlink terminals to Ukraine
Ukraine has received another five thousand Starlink terminals from Poland. They will be used in the frontline regions, according to the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
"Part of the terminals is being sent to ensure uninterrupted communication in the frontline territories. Critical infrastructure facilities will also receive the terminals," the statement reads.
According to Fedorov, Ukraine currently operates around 47,000 Starlink terminals, acquired through agreements between the Ministry of Digital Transformation and international donors and partners. Poland has contributed the most terminals, totaling 19,500.
Ukrainian military using Starlink
CNN recently published an excerpt from a book about Elon Musk, discussing a Ukrainian attack on the Russian fleet. SpaceX's founder allegedly ordered Starlink to be secretly turned off over Crimea to prevent Ukraine's drones from targeting Russian ships.
As mentioned in the book, Musk feared that such actions might lead to the use of nuclear weapons. Musk later justified his actions.
The head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, confirmed that Starlink was inactive near Crimea for some time. However, he doubted Elon Musk's direct involvement in this matter.
