Poland is finalizing the development of its own kamikaze drone, which will be similar to Iran’s Shahed-type attack drones, Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz says in a comment to Polish Radio.

The Polish Minister notes that this project is one of the first tasks of the Center for Autonomous Systems in Warsaw, which will bring together the military, scientists, and the defense industry to accelerate the implementation of the latest technologies.

At the same time, Poland is increasing funding: while approximately PLN 100 million (USD 25 million) were allocated for drones in 2023, this year the plan is to allocate up to PLN 25 billion (USD 6.25 billion).

The funds will go not only toward kamikaze drones but also toward autonomous systems and countermeasures—specifically, the creation of an anti-drone shield along the eastern border.

This refers to the PLargonia program, which was unveiled last year. The drone features a delta-wing design and several variants—both training and combat models.

Technical specifications of the aircraft:

  • Wingspan – 2.2 meters,
  • Length – 2.6 meters,
  • Maximum takeoff weight – up to 85 kg.

The drone is capable of carrying a combat payload of up to 20 kg, reaching speeds of up to 185 km/h, and covering a distance of up to 900 km.

The Ukrainian-British company UForce has developed a new suicide drone called Bucha. It has a 5.5-kilogram payload and is designed for a flight range of up to 200 kilometers.

Japan is exploring the possibility of purchasing Ukrainian-made strike drones to equip its own Self-Defense Forces. Interest in this technology stems from its effective use in real combat conditions during the repulsion of Russian aggression.

The Ukrainian F10 FPV attack drone, developed by F-Drones, has advanced to the finals of the first phase of the Drone Dominance program, which is being implemented by the Pentagon.
