Ukrainian strike FPV drone F10 produced by company F-Drones has reached the finals of the first stage of the Drone Dominance program conducted by the Pentagon, Defender Media reports.
Results of the first stage
According to the publication, drone F10 took part in the competition as a representative of Ukrainian Defence Drones Tech Corporation.
Within the first stage of the Drone Dominance program, the device took sixth place, scoring 72.9 points out of a possible 100.
"According to the rules of the program, the manufacturer will now receive a contract to supply drones for the Pentagon," Defender Media explained.
Reasons for selecting the Ukrainian drone
As the publication notes, one of the reasons for including F10 in the list of finalists was the high level of production localization.
Company F-Drones manufactures a significant part of the components itself, while the rest are purchased from European suppliers.
"In 2024, the company localized production of carbon frames and antennas, and by 2025 expanded product line and began producing flight controllers, speed controllers, radio modems, and video transmission systems," the publication writes.
Leader of the competition
The winner of the first stage of the Drone Dominance program became fiber-optic drone Shrike 10 Fiber from Ukrainian company SkyFall. It was rated at 99.3 points out of a possible 100.
What is known about the Drone Dominance program
The Drone Dominance program has a budget of 1.1 billion dollars and envisions testing developments of 25 manufacturers at the initial stage.
Following the results of the first stage, the Pentagon plans to purchase about 30 thousand drones from 11 companies. The total value of these contracts is estimated at 150 million dollars.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said that the United States does not need assistance from Ukraine in the issue of protection from drones.
The United States has faced a new threat for which they were not prepared: Iranian swarms of drones are changing the balance of power in the Middle East, while traditional defense systems are not able to effectively counter such tactics.
