Palestinian state should be recognized through negotiations - White House
The administration of US President Joe Biden has opposed the decision of Spain, Norway, and Ireland to recognize Palestine as a state, emphasizing its support for recognition through diplomatic negotiations involving Israel, reports CNN.
"The president is a strong supporter of a two-state solution and has been throughout his career," noted a spokesman for the US National Security Council.
He added that the US president "believes a Palestinian state should be realized through direct negotiations between the parties, not through unilateral recognition."
CNN also reminds that Biden himself recently confirmed his support for the two-state solution, calling it "the only solution where two people live in peace, security, and dignity."
