The long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) attacked the military radio plant in Russia's Penza. At least 11 explosions were recorded during the strike, followed by a large-scale fire, a source within the SBU reports.

According to the source, preliminary data indicate that the new production complex of the plant and storage facilities containing components were hit.

The military radio plant in Penza is part of the Rostec corporation and manufactures automated battle management systems for various branches of the Russian armed forces: air defense, artillery, as well as mobile command posts based on armored vehicles and modern communication systems. Due to its involvement in Russia's military-industrial complex, the plant is subject to international sanctions.

"The SBU is systematically reducing Russia's ability to manufacture products for its army. The summer season of targeting high-tech enterprises within Russia's defense industry is in full swing," the informed source within the SBU said.

On July 31, Ukrainian drones attacked a military radio plant in Penza, Russia, which specializes in producing modern communication systems for the Russian armed forces.

Penza is a city in Russia and the administrative center of the Penza region. It has a population of approximately 500,000. The city is home to the machine-building and electronics industries. It is located about 750 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Also on July 31, in the city of Kotelnykove in Russia's Volgograd region, a fire broke out following a nighttime UAV attack, and train traffic was suspended.
