In recent days, Russia has significantly intensified its massive strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities, carrying out combined attacks, according to the President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Telegram post.
According to Zelenskyy, just this week alone, the occupiers launched over 1,600 attack drones, around 1,200 guided aerial bombs, and nearly 70 missiles of various types across Ukraine.
The main targets of Russian attacks remain infrastructure facilities that ensure normal life for civilians. Zelenskyy noted that another massive strike occurred today, with Russia using more than 240 drones and five ballistic missiles, causing damage in seven regions.
"Unfortunately, there are casualties in Sloviansk and in the Chernihiv region. My condolences to the families and loved ones," the president said.
He emphasized that Ukraine continues working with international partners to strengthen its air defense.
"The priority is clear — more air defense systems and missiles, more support for our defenders. Every agreement must be implemented faster," Zelenskyy added, thanking everyone who is helping Ukraine’s defense.
Attack on energy infrastructure
On the night of December 6, Russian occupiers carried out a massive missile and drone strike on energy facilities across several regions.
The targets included electricity generation, distribution, and transmission facilities in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions. DTEK thermal power plants in various regions were also hit, with their equipment suffering significant damage.
As a result of this massive strike, Ukrainian nuclear power plants were forced to reduce electricity production.
During the same night, the enemy carried out another strike on Ukrainian territory. The main target was the city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region. According to the Air Force, the enemy deployed 246 aerial targets.
