The number of people injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 90, with 44 currently hospitalized, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

According to Klymenko, eight people were killed in the strike. The body parts of a ninth victim, previously believed to be among the dead, are undergoing forensic examination. Among those killed were two young people from the same family, born in 2003 and 2005.

"90 people have been injured, 44 are in medical facilities," Klymenko stated.

Search and rescue operations continue in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district, where a residential building was hit. Emergency services and canine units are on the scene. The Interior Ministry notes that people may still be trapped under the rubble.

"One man survived eight hours under the debris, and we managed to rescue him alive. That’s why we will continue working day and night until we’re sure that all the bodies have been recovered or survivors found,” Klymenko emphasized.

Massive Russian attack on Ukraine

In the early hours of April 24, Russia launched one of its most powerful attacks in recent months, firing 70 missiles and 145 drones at Ukraine.

Kyiv was hit hardest, targeted by both drones and missiles, including ballistic ones. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a residential building was partially destroyed, and rescue crews are clearing the rubble.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that among the victims in Kyiv were a brother and sister, aged 21 and 19, killed in the strike. The city has declared April 25 a Day of Mourning.

Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, and Sumy regions were also attacked. Several regions reported damage and casualties.
