The government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is sacrificing its people for the sake of nuclear ambitions and supporting Russia's military machine, which continues its military aggression against Ukraine, states the Ambassador of South Korea, Hwang Jun-kook.

The representative of Seoul, commenting on North Korea's launch of a medium-range hypersonic missile earlier this week, stated that the test demonstrated where Pyongyang is directing its "bloody" money.

"The DPRK sacrifices its own people to fulfill its nuclear ambitions and further contributes to deaths and destruction in Ukraine," said the South Korean ambassador at the UN Security Council.

Kook referred to the North Korean troops stationed in Russia as essentially "slaves" to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

In the belief of the Seoul representative, the North Korean soldiers have had their minds brainwashed to sacrifice their lives on distant battlefields to raise funds for Kim Jong Un's regime and supply Russia with troops and equipment.

Such a statement from the South Korean ambassador was made at the UN Security Council, citing Seoul's assessment that Pyongyang has already lost at least 1,100 servicemen in combat on the Russian-Ukrainian warfront, participating on the side of the Kremlin.

It was recently reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Russia lost up to a battalion of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region in just two days. According to him, it is already known that 3,800 North Korean military personnel were either killed or wounded.

Earlier, South Korean intelligence reported that North Korea is preparing to send new soldiers to Russia. Pyongyang is also planning to supply additional military equipment to Russia, including kamikaze drones.

In December, South Korean intelligence clarified that North Korea's losses in the war against Ukraine were estimated by Seoul at 1,100 individuals (it was not specified whether these were dead or wounded).

Also, in December, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's Main Intelligence Directorate informed that Russia had already used about 60 North Korean-made KN-23 ballistic missiles during strikes on Ukraine.
