New French foreign minister to visit Kyiv
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Stéphane Séjourné, is heading to Kyiv for an official visit, reports Le Figaro.
Sources from Séjourné's entourage state that the minister is "on his way to Kyiv," where he is scheduled to meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to demonstrate France's support for Ukraine.
Initially, the visit to Ukraine was planned with the former minister, Catherine Colonna. However, there were government reshuffles in the meantime, and Stéphane Séjourné was appointed in her place.
Change in French Prime Minister
On January 8, Élisabeth Borne resigned as the Prime Minister of France and submitted her resignation to President Emmanuel Macron.
The next day, Macron appointed 34-year-old Education Minister Gabriel Attal as the new Prime Minister of the country.
He became the fourth head of the French government since 2017 during Macron's presidency.
On January 11, a new government was formed in France, with Stéphane Séjourné heading the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
